You can update the software (firmware) on your Skippa from a USB thumb drive if you have a copy of the software file (see below).
- Copy the downloaded upgrade_skippa.ice file onto a USB stick.
- Make sure that file name does NOT have a (1) in it. The name must be just upgrade_skippa.ice
- Right-click on the file and select Properties then check there is nothing in the name after the .ice
- Also check the size of the file is correct. It should be 67.1 MB or 68,794 KB or 70,445.028 bytes.
- Safely Remove or Eject or Unmount the USB stick from your computer.
- Insert the USB stick into a USB port on the rear of the Skippa.
- If the Skippa is in standby, turn it on and wait for it to finish loading.
- Press Menu on the remote control.
- Scroll down to Settings and press OK.
- Scroll down to "Device Info" and press OK.
- Check that below "USB Devices" shows "USB Drive 1".
- Press OK on "Check for Updates".
- A popup message should appear indicating that the USB upgrade is in progress.
- When the upgrade is complete the Skippa will automatically reboot.
- You can now remove the USB stick.
