How do I delete unwanted channels from the Guide, or setup Favourites

Avoid seeing unwanted channels in the Guide on your Humax

Sometimes there may be channels that you want to avoid seeing in the guide on your Humax. These channels could be duplicate channels or infomercial channels which don't have a guide, or channels that you don't watch. There are two options: Setup a favourite channels group or delete the unwanted channels.

Option A - Setup a Favourite Channel Group

If you want to keep all of the channels on your Humax but only see your selected channels in the guide you can setup a favourite channel group that only contains the channels that you want to see in the guide.

Setup a group of your favourite channels:
  • You add channels to a favourite channel group from 'MENU > Settings > Edit Channels > Edit Favourite List'.
  • You can also move the favourite channels up and down within your list of favourite channels to sort or group them as you please.
For a more detailed outline see page 23 in the Humax owner's manual which you can download here.
Page 24 in Humax owner's manual outlines more advanced options that most people would never use.

Note: Make sure that the channels enabled in the My Account then Guide Settings page of your IceTV account are included in your favourite channel group. Otherwise IceTV may set a recording on a channel that you cannot see in the guide and you may think your show is not set to record. If you have any doubt about whether a show is scheduled or not, check the Humax's Schedule List.

After setting your favourite channels you will want to switch to the favourite channel group. You can switch between the full TV and Radio channel lists/groups and your favourite list or lists at any time.

Switch to your favourite channel list do the following:
  1. While viewing live TV press the OK button.
  2. Press the right arrow button (next to the OK button).
  3. Using the right or left arrow button scroll across to your Favourite group (you will see your favourite channels listed on the left of the screen).
  4. Scroll down to any of the channels in your favourite group and press OK to change to that channel.
Now when you change channels via the channel up and down buttons or scroll through the channels in the guide you will only see your selected channels.

Option B - Delete Unwanted Channels

If you prefer to delete the unwanted channels see the following steps. There are 2 ways to delete channels: 1 at a time or multiple at once.

Note: You must make sure that you do not delete any channels that are enabled in My Account then Guide Settings page page in your IceTV account. Any channel with a number set or 'All' set on the right column is enabled.
