Humax has no guide/is unreliable/not connecting to IceTV - How to reset

If your Humax has no guide, is unreliable or failing to connect to IceTV's servers it could be the Humax needs a simple reset by switching it off at its switch at the rear of its box, waiting about half a minute then switch it on again.

If that doesn't work it may need a proper reset to clear out all settings in the PVR and start again with a "clean installation".  To perform a factory reset just follow these steps:

Note: Your existing recordings will be safe as long as you do NOT tick the Format HDD check-box in step 4 below.

 

  1. Press the MENU button on the remote control, then scroll down and select Settings and press ok.

  2. Scroll down and select Installation and press ok. After selecting Installation it will ask for a Password. When asked for the Password enter your Humax's PIN number (the default PIN number is 0000).

  3. Select Factory Default and press ok.

  4. Leave 'Format HDD' unticked (you do NOT want to format the hard drive). Then select Yes and press ok. When asked for the Password enter your Humax's PIN number (the default PIN number is 0000).

Once completed the Humax will reboot and start with the first time setup wizard. A guide on the steps to run through the setup wizard can be found at Setting up IceTV on the Humax HDR-7500T.
