How do I setup timer padding on the Strong, or Why do I miss the end of my shows

You can setup timer padding on the Strong which will automatically extend all timers based on the time you set.  This is to stop missing the end of shows due to TV stations not sticking to their advertised start and stop times.

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

For the SRT-7000 and SRT-7014 models

  1. Press the Guide button on the remote control.
  2. Press the Yellow button.
  3. In the pop-up window, set the 'Lead In' time to 5 Min by pressing the right volume button (Volume >).
  4. Set the 'Lead Out' time to 20 or 30 Min by pressing the left Volume button (Volume <) once or twice.
  5. Press the Exit button.
  6. Answer Yes to Save Changes.

For the SRT-5495 and SRT-5492 models

  1. Go into the main menu on the Strong
  2. Select "System Setting" from the menu and press OK.
  3. Select "Time Settings" and press OK.
  4. Select "Timer Lead Time" and press OK.
Note: If you cannot see the "Timer Lead Time" option in the "Time Settings" menu then you will need to update your Strong to the latest firmware.
  5. In the pop-up window, set the 'Lead In' time to 5 Min by pressing the right volume button (Volume >).
  6. Set the 'Lead Out' time to 20 or 30 Min by pressing the left Volume button (Volume <) once or twice.
  7. Press the Exit button.
  8. Answer Yes to Save Changes.

That's it, now all recordings will be extended (as long as there are no conflicting recordings).
