Setting up IceTV and Topfield TF7000HDPVRt PVRs

This document describes the process for downloading and displaying the IceTV Guide on your Topfield TF7000HDPVRt.

Downloading the latest guide file

Click the link below to download the latest guide file. When asked enter your IceTV Member ID and password.

To update your Topfield TF7000HDPVRt with the latest TV Guide, please follow the instructions below:

1. Save the icetv_epg.txt file into a folder called "ice" on a USB Stick/Flash Pen. (NOTE: if you have downloaded the file onto your PC/Laptop, copy it over to the USB Stick/Flash pen.)
2. Plug the USB Stick/Flash into the USB slot on your PVR.
3. Press the "Guide" button on your remote control.
4. Press the white button to update the guide.
5. A box will appear on screen with the icetv_epg.txt filename listed. Press the "OK" button on the remote control to select this file.
6. Then change the guide view to force a refresh (so you can see the new guide data).

Setup instructions for Topfield TF7000HDPVRt

If you have just purchased your PVR, connect and install it according to the instructions supplied with it. Scan for channels and make sure you can receive all expected channels.

1. Create a folder called "ice" on a USB Stick or Flash Pen.
2. Save the icetv_epg.txt file into the "ice" folder that you created above onto a USB Stick or Flash Pen. (NOTE: if you have downloaded the file onto your PC/Laptop, copy it over to the USB Stick/Flash pen)
3. Plug the USB Stick or Flash into the USB slot on your PVR.
4. Turn the machine on and go press the Menu button on the remote control.
5. Scroll to System Settings and press Ok on the remote.
6. Scroll to EPG Type then press the right arrow to change it from "Air" to "IceTV".
7. Press Exit.
8. Press the "Guide" button.
9. Press the white button to update the guide.
10. A box will appear on screen with the icetv_epg.txt filename listed. Press the "OK" button on the remote control to select this file.
11. Then change the guide view to force a refresh (so you can see the new guide data).

Checking for the latest firmware

A firmware application version of v0.98.00 or later is required to use IceTV with your Topfield TF7000HDPVRt. Please follow the instructions below to check your firmware version and update your firmware version (if required).

Checking your firmware version

On the PVR:

1. Go to the Information menu.
2. Click on the IRD Status to display the current firmware version on your PVR.
3. The "Application Version" number is the one that needs to be checked against.

Updating your firmware

On your PC:

1. Go to the Topfield downloads page.
2. Download the firmware to your PC, this will be in the section for the TF7000HDPVRt.
3. Copy the firmware file to a USB Stick or Flash Pen.

On the PVR:

1. Turn the machine on and go press the Menu button on the remote control.
2. Scroll to Installation and press Ok on the remote.
3. Scroll to Transfer Firmware and press Ok on the remote.
4. Scroll to Update from USB and press Ok on the remote.
5. Plug the USB Stick or Flash into the USB slot on your PVR when asked.
6. Select "Yes" and press Ok when asked if you'd like to continue.
7. The PVR will prepare to update the firmware, then reboot and update the firmware (this might take a while).
8. The PVR will then reboot again with the new firmware.
