Why does EyeTV Preferences show a "Download failed" error under Last Update?

If the program guide in EyeTV is blank and you see a "Download failed" error listed under 'Last Update' in EyeTV Preferences then something could be blocking EyeTV's access to the IceTV server. 

  • Try closing any Anti-Virus or Security software, like Kaspersky, Avast, Avira, Comodo etc, to see if that is blocking access to the IceTV server.
  • You can also try closing any firewall software. 
  • Check that the Parental Controls in OS X are not blocking EyeTV from accessing IceTV.
  • You also want to check the obvious: Make sure that OS X can access the Internet.
