Setting up IceTV and DGTEC, Arista or Diginet PVRs

To set up the IceTV Guide in your DGTEC PVR, please follow the simple instructions below. If you have any technical problems then please contact Customer Support.

Update instructions for DG-HD160PVR, DG-HD250PVR, Arista and Diginet PVR's.

If you have just purchased your PVR, connect and install it according to the instructions supplied with it. Scan for channels and make sure you can receive all expected channels.

1. Save the iceguide_cgi.txt file onto a USB Stick/Flash Pen. (NOTE: if you have downloaded the file onto your PC/Laptop, copy it over to the USB Stick/Flash pen)
2. Plug the USB Stick/Flash into the USB slot on your PVR.
3. Turn the machine on and go into the MENU.
4. Scroll down to PVR OPTIONS and press OK on the remote.
5. Select FILE MANAGE and press OK.
6. Select UPDATE ICE DATA and press OK.
7. If successful the unit will display "UPDATE ICE DATA SUCCESSFULLY".
8. Press MENU to finish the procedure.
9. Press the EPG button to access the ICE GUIDE.

Setup your DG-SD80PVR and DG-SD200PVR

If you have just purchased your PVR, connect and install it according to the instructions supplied with it. Scan for channels and make sure you can receive all expected channels.

Check the DGTEC's Firmware Revision

1. Press the Menu button on the remote control.
2. Select Settings and press Enter.
3. Select "System Settings" and ensure that there is a dot next to "On", if there isn't select "On" and press the "Enter" button.
4. In the box on the right hand side of the screen the last line will list the version number of the firmware. The version will need to be at least the 060908A firmware to have complete Guide support.
5. If the version number running on the PVR is less than this you will need to upgrade, full instructions on how to do this can be found on the DGTEC website located at dgtec.com.au.

Turn on IceTV support on the DGTEC PVR

1. Press the Menu button on the remote control.
2. Select Settings and press Enter.
3. Scroll down to Program Settings and press the right arrow key.
4. Select "Ice Guide" and press the right arrow key.
5. Highlight "On" and press Enter.
6. Press the Exit button twice.

Updating the IceTV Guide on the DGTEC PVR

On the PVR:

1. Connect the DGTEC PVR to the PC via a USB cable.
2. Press the Menu button on the remote control.
3. Select Settings and press Enter.
4. Scroll down to USB and press the right arrow key.
5. Select Connect to PC and press Enter.
6. Once the "Connected to PC" message is on-screen the DGTEC hard drive will be available on the PC.

On the PC:

1. Click on the link at the top of this page under the section Download the current guide file Click on the link marked "Click here to download the latest guide file."
2. Browse to the drive that will be called DGTEC (this is the hard drive of the DGTEC PVR) and save the file with the name provided (this should be "iceguide_cgi.txt").

On the PVR:

1. Press Enter on the OK button on the screen.
2. Choose "Yes" and press Enter.
3. When confirmation that the PVR has been "Disconnected from PC" comes up on-screen, press Enter on the OK button.
4. Press the Exit button twice.
