How do I clear out the cached guide and reservations and force an update without a factory reset

For Topfield TRF-53x0, TRF-2460, TRF-2400 and TF7100HDPlus with Nov 2011 or newer Firmware

Note: If the System Status on your Topfield shows a firmware with a 'Last Update' from before Nov 2011 please follow the instructions listed at
How do I clear out the cached guide and force an update? - or you can Update the firmware then follow the steps below.

If the guide is coming up blank, or you have just updated the channel mapping information on the IceTV website, and it has been over 1 hour since the Topfield last updated the guide (you can check when the guide was last updated in the My Account then Guide Settings section of the IceTV website), then you can run through the following steps.

Unfortunately there is no simple option on a Topfield to just clear out the reservations and cached guide information without causing your IceTV shows to not record for the next 5 days, so the only option is to perform an auto channel search on the Topfield then check that IceTV is still enabled and finally resend all recordings from the website.

If your Topfield has the Nov 2011 firmware or newer these steps will get your Topfield working again:

  1. Press "Menu" on the Topfield remote control.
  2. Select "Installation" then "System Recovery" then "Reset Service List".
  3. Select "Yes" to confirm you wish to remove all channels.
  4. Press "Menu" to go back to the main menu.
  5. Select "Installation" then "Service Search"
  6. Scroll down to "Start Search" and press "OK", then wait until the channel search completes.
  7. Press "Menu" to go back to the main menu.
  8. Select "Installation" then "Network Settings" then "IP Settings".
  9. If "Activate" is "OFF", change it to "ON" and wait until the network has connected.
  10. Press "Menu" to go back to the main menu.
  11. Select "Settings" then "IceTV".
  12. Make sure IceTV is still set to "Enable". If not, set it to "Enable".
  13. Select "User Info" then enter your Topfield's PIN (usually 0000 or 2606).
  14. Check that User ID and Password have your IceTV account details entered. Click here if you need help changing them.
  15. Select "OK" at the bottom and press OK, then check that the correct Device Label is selected.
  16. Exit the menu and turn the Topfield unit off.
  17. Go to My Account then My Recorders on the IceTV website.
  18. Click on the 'Settings' button to the right of your Topfield device.
  19. Click on the 'Resend all recordings for this device' link.
  20. Turn the Topfield unit on, and leave it on for 60 minutes.
  21. You are now finished. IceTV will send half of your reservations on the first fetch, and the remainder on the next fetch.
