If your PVR is a long way away from your Wifi router and you are unable to
bring them closer together, the next best option is Ethernet over Power. These are two
boxes that plug into your household power points. One next to your modem/router and the
other next to your PVR box. They transmit the Internet signal to your PVR via your household electrical wiring.
NOTE: Ethernet Over Power solutions are best plugged directly into the electrical socket. Some power boards with built-in surge protection are incompatible with these devices. 3 phase power is also incompatible.
More info can be found here. Look at the "Ethernet over Power" heading:

If EOP is not an option (possibly because you have problems with 3 Phase Power), there is also the option of "Wireless Bridges". These are a more advanced solution and may require technical support via the manufacturer (such as Netcomm and DLink) to setup correctly. Fairly advanced networking knowledge/experience is required to properly setup and administer these types of devices. This falls outside the level of support we normally provide you over the phone and may require an IT technician to configure to your needs.
