To set up IceTV's Guide on your Topfield TF7100HDPVRt, please follow the simple instructions below. If you have any technical problems setting up IceTV Guide listings then please contact Customer Support.

Note: The instructions below assume that you have already registered an account with IceTV and have selected which TV Guide region (EPG region) you would like to receive TV guide data for. If you haven't done this or are unsure please go to My Account and select your region and time zone and then click "Save Settings".

1. Setup an IceTV Interactive Device

An IceTV Interactive device is needed to download the guide on the Topfield TF7100HDPVRt, when you sign up for the IceTV Guide an Interactive device should automatically be created for you. The following steps will show you how to check this and set one up if needed.

1. Login to the My Account section on the IceTV website.
2. Click on the "TV Recorders" tab.
3. Under the "Add an Interactive device" section enter a name for your device in the box marked "Device label" (e.g. Loungeroom or Topfield or TF7100HDPVRt).
4. Set the device type to "Topfield TF7100HDPVRt".
5. Click "Add"
6. The page will refresh and you will get a confirmation message at the top saying "Device Added" and a new box will appear just in case you want to add a second device (if you only have one device to use with IceTV Interactive for remote recording purposes just leave this new box blank).

You are now ready to check the firmware on your Topfield TF7100HDPVRt at step 2. Check the Firmware version..

2. Checking the Firmware version

A firmware application version of v1.11.33 (Last Update Date : Mar 17 2009) or later is required to use IceTV with your Topfield TF7100HDPVRt. Please follow the instructions below to check your firmware version and update your firmware version (if required);

Checking your firmware version

On the PVR:

1. Press "Menu" on your remote control and select the "Information" menu.
2. Click on the "Recorder Status" to display the current firmware version on your PVR.
3. The "Application Version" number is the one that needs to be checked and you should see v1.11.33 or later (With a "Last Update" date of "Mar 17 2009").
4. If you have the latest firmware version then you can proceed to step 4. Setup the IceTV EPG., otherwise follow the instructions below to update the firmware.

Updating your firmware

On your PC:

1. Go to the Topfield firmware download page, then select "TF7100HDPVRt" from the drop down box.
2. Download the firmware to your PC, this will be in the section for the TF7100HDPVRt and save it in a known location (i.e. the 'desktop'). The current filename on the Topfield website is "TF7100HDPVRt firmware (20090317)".
3. Copy the firmware file to a USB Stick or Flash Pen.

On the PVR:

1. Turn the machine on and go press the Menu button on the remote control.
2. Scroll to Installation and press Ok on the remote.
3. Scroll to Transfer Firmware and press Ok on the remote.
4. Select Update from USB and press Ok on the remote.
5. Plug the USB Stick or Flash into the USB slot on your PVR when asked.
6. Select "Yes" and press Ok when asked if you'd like to continue.
7. The PVR will prepare to update the firmware, then reboot and update the firmware (this might take a while).
8. The PVR will then reboot again with the new firmware.
9. Once the firmware update is complete you should also perform a reset to factory defaults to ensure no old settings are left behind that could cause corruption. To do this press the Menu button on the remote control.
10. Scroll to Installation and press Ok on the remote.
11. Scroll to Factory Setting and press Ok on the remote.
12. Select "Yes" and press Ok when asked if you'd like to "Reset all data?"
13. Also select "No" and press Ok when asked if you want to preserve channel and timer data.
14. You should now re-setup the Topfield using the instructions in the manual to scan the channels and any settings that are necessary.

You are now ready to continue on at step 3. Install and setup the Topfield TF7100HDPVRt..

3. Install and setup the Topfield TF7100HDPVRt

To use the Guide on your Topfield TF7100HDPVRt you will first need to install and setup the device. This will involve connecting the Topfield TF7100HDPVRt to your antenna connection, your TV and your home network. This will also include the scanning of channels and setting up a favourites list so that you can set the order of the channels in the guide. There are detailed instructions for these steps in the manual that was included with your Topfield TF7100HDPVRt.

You are now ready to continue setting up the Guide on your Topfield TF7100HDPVRt at step 4. Setup the IceTV EPG..

4. Setup the IceTV EPG (TV Guide)

1. Open the setup screen by pressing the "Menu" button and then "System Setting" on the remote control.
2. Scroll down and select "EPG Setting" by pressing "OK".
3. Select "IceTV" as the EPG Type using the "OK" button.
4. Select "ID" and press "OK", then type in your IceTV Member ID using the on-screen keyboard. When finished select "Save" (Blue Button) to save.
5. Select "Password" and press "OK", then type in your IceTV Password using the on-screen keyboard. When finished select "Save" (Blue Button) to save. (Please note - The IceTV Password is case sensitive, ensure that it is entered exactly as you originally typed in the IceTV website.)
6. The "Device Type" should be downloaded from the server and list the Interactive devices you have setup on your account, if you have more than one device you will need to use the left and right arrow keys on the remote to choose between the available options, if you have just one device setup then you can leave this at the default setting.
7. You should now be able to test your connection by pressing the red button on your remote control ("Test Connection"). This will test communication with the IceTV server and inform you if successful or not. If unsuccessful then ensure your Topfield is connected to your home network and also that the IceTV Member ID and Password settings are correct.

You have now successfully completed IceTV's setup procedure for the Topfield TF7100HDPVt.

To view the TV Guide, press the "GUIDE" button on the remote control.
